The Open For Art Festival curated by Jelly is a vibrant visual arts festival based in Reading, UK. Events take place in venues all over the Berkshire town & showcase the visual arts in all forms.
The Festival includes over 40 venues plus an additional 20+ sites that form the ‘Public Art Trail’. There’s something for everyone including walks, talks, workshops, masterclasses & performances – many of which are completely free. It’s a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to come together to celebrate the arts in many different ways.
Perfectly timed to give the festival an additional boost last night (Wednesday 27th June 2018) Jelly’s Open For Art Festival 2017 won Cultural Event of the year, at the Cultural Awards in Reading! A well deserved acknowledgment of the festival’s success.
Add to this the fact that Jelly turns 25 this year & was recently honoured by the Queen, with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, aka ‘The MBE’ – given in recognition of the dedication & hard work of Suzanne Stallard (founder) & all the ‘Jellies’ who’ve made it happen over the last 25 years, & it’s been quite a year for the arts charity!
We’re thrilled to play a small part in the 2018 Open For Art Festival! We’ll be hosting Home – an artist talk plus Q&A on Tuesday 3rd July at 12.30pm to 2pm at our Reading offices – more below.
Reading photographers John Angerson and Salvo Toscano will talk about their perspectives on home and storytelling in a discussion plus Q&A led by Amanda McDonnell from Reading homelessness charity Launchpad.
It will take place in the reception of our building ‘Spaces’ on Greyfriars Rd in central Reading, & will be a relaxed gathering that will include lunch. It’s a free event with donations on the day for Launchpad. We’d love you to join us, to Book Home click here!
